Commentary
And when that befell them, it caused them to migrate from their homes, the homes of evil, anger, and curse. So Allah, the Most High, said - informing us of that -: ﴿So he turned away﴾ meaning: he made himself turn away ﴿from them and said﴾ meaning: when he realized from the conditions of the people the softness towards the loss of their faith, while they are his kin and tribe ﴿O my people﴾ meaning: those who I care for what harms them ﴿I have conveyed to you﴾ and perhaps he unified his saying: ﴿the message of my Lord﴾ due to the oneness of his signs ﴿and I advised﴾ and he limited the action and connected it with the preposition 'to' saying: ﴿to you﴾ indicating that it is specific to them. It has been narrated that he left them with one hundred and ten of the Muslims while he was weeping, and his people were one thousand and five hundred homes. It has been narrated that he returned with those who were with him and they settled in their homes.
And when the implication was: I acted with you what is required for you to love me for it - he added to it his saying: ﴿but﴾ you did not love me. Thus was the origin, but he expressed it in a way that indicates that this was their habit and character with every advisor. So he said: ﴿you do not love﴾ meaning: depicting their past condition ﴿the advisors﴾ meaning: everyone who acted as I did in complete advising.
