And when it was known that there is an end for the universe on earth, and among the philosophers, the reincarnationists and others who affirm the Oneness, there are those who say: that the souls are detached from the corporeal and its attachments, and that when the body perishes, they connect to the higher realms, either to a celestial body or otherwise, or they descend into the ranks of the angels, and their attachment to the body ceases in every way, so they do not connect to it, neither by management nor otherwise, nor by resurrection - for those among them who spoke of resurrection - it was as if it was said: what will happen after that? So it was answered by His saying: "He said" [meaning: Allah responding to them regarding what they believe about the invalidity of the attachment to the body, expressing it with the pronoun that refers to this specific structure of spirit and body] "In it" [meaning: the earth, not in other than it] "You will live" meaning: firstly and secondly [upon what you are upon, with your outward and inward, bodies and souls] "And in it" [meaning: likewise, not in other than it, as you are witnesses to that] "You will die" meaning: from the first life [as a whole, so there will be an attachment of the souls to the bodies in some way until the deceased sits in the grave and answers the question of the two angels - peace be upon them - and the bodies enjoy their pleasure and feel pain with their pain], so it was indicated towards resurrection with a detailed account of the state of the universe on earth, and the story was concluded with what it began with, informing about resurrection with His saying: "And from it" [meaning: not from other than it, by the news of the truthful] "You will be brought out" meaning: [spirit and body] after your death in it and your return to what you were upon first, dust, for recompense and the manifestation of the fruits of dominion by justly giving some of you to others and adorning [with the attribute of] justice, for what some of you do to each other of oppression and injustice, which would not please even the least of your leaders to acknowledge it upon his servants. And it was known by this that the evidence for resurrection is the essence of the story, and this is clearer [than its mention] in what has passed in His saying: "So we will surely ask those to whom messengers were sent" [Al-A'raf: 6].
