And when the devil was striving in his enmity towards the children of Adam to drive them away from these virtues and to encourage them towards their opposites, "And the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, had the share of the devil removed from him by casting out that black attachment from his heart when Gabriel, peace be upon him, split open his chest and washed his heart and said: This is the share of the devil from you;" he legislated for his nation what would protect them from him at the time of his incitement, addressing him with that so that it would be more likely for them to accept and more deserving of the intense fear that necessitates fleeing, which leads to salvation; because when they knew the intention of the devil towards one from whom his share was removed and who was protected from every trial, they knew that he was more determined against them and had greater schemes and hindrances. So he said, emphasizing with various forms of emphasis, pointing to the intensity of the devil's intention for temptation and his excess in that, to urge them to be cautious of him even if his intention in that was in a place of denial due to his knowledge of the protection - for this reason, he expressed it with a tool of doubt, indicating the weakness of his schemes against the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him; because Allah, the Exalted, aided him against his companion, so he submitted: "And if" meaning: if, and it was emphasized with 'ma' affirming the meaning and negating its opposite, "he should incite you" meaning: he should push you with a great push, "from the devil is an incitement" meaning: a push by his whispering, concerning which he would disturb and drive towards the opposite of what has preceded from the virtues, in a manner similar to anger from the ignorance of the ignorant and the folly of the foolish, or excess in some aspects, just as a beast is driven by what it is pushed with. Thus, the push is interpreted and made a push that indicates its intensity. "So seek refuge" meaning: so find or ask for refuge, which is to hold on, "with Allah" meaning: the One who has all might, greatness, power, and dominance, for your separation from the brothers and supporters to Him, for there is no ally for you nor supporter except Him. For when He intends to grant you refuge, He reminds you of the might of His blessings and the severity of His punishments, what He wants to protect you from corruption, out of desire and fear. And the verse refers to His saying, the Exalted: "I will surely sit for them on Your straight path" [Al-A'raf: 16].
And when the Exalted invalidated that there should be for their partners any hearing or knowledge, establishing that for Him is sufficient in His exclusivity without the need for the restriction that includes negation from others, for it has preceded explicitly contrary to what is in Fussilat. So he said, justifying: "Indeed, He is All-Hearing" meaning: He has profound hearing, for He hears your seeking refuge and will respond to you if He wills. "All-Knowing" encompassing knowledge of what you want and what your enemy wants from you, so nothing can incapacitate Him. And He concluded with the attribute of knowledge in both places because whispering is of the matters that are known. And He concluded it in Surah Al-Mu'min with 'All-Seeing,' derived from sight and insight; for what one seeks refuge from is a matter of people and among it is what is seen.
