Commentary
And when the number of the faults of Israel increased, and it concluded with the specification of the follower of this noble Prophet with guidance and mercy caused by it, and among them was the one who was upright upon what his Lord had legislated for him, adhering to what was required of the people of his obedience and his party, whether it was from the attributes of the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, or otherwise, while acknowledging all of that; he alerted to it returning to complete their news. Then what occurred in the days of Moses, peace be upon him, and after it from their evils, as a consolation for this noble Prophet and a comfort, and to soothe his pure soul and provide solace. And with what follows it from evidence, 'I will turn away from My signs' [Al-A'raf: 146], He, the Most High, said, connecting to: 'And the people of Moses took after him' [Al-A'raf: 148]. 'And from the people of Moses is a nation' means: a people who deserve to be led; because they do not act arrogantly on the earth without right, but rather (p-132) 'they guide' means: they establish guidance which is the clarification 'with the truth and by it' means: specifically 'they act justly' means: they make the differing matters that are disputed equal so that satisfaction may occur with them, no injustice occurs from them in anything of it. And among them are those who followed the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, like Abdullah ibn Salam and Mukhayriq, may Allah be pleased with them both.
