And when he reminded of the state of those who perished from the previous nations due to their evil denial and their ugly stubbornness, he followed that with a mention of the warning of the Hereafter: "On that Day you will be presented; nothing of you will be hidden" [Al-Haaqqa: 18]. Then the speech returned to what the Surah of "N and the Pen" [Al-Qalam: 1] is based upon, which is the glorification of him [blessings and peace be upon him] and his honoring, swearing by that: "Indeed, it is the saying of a noble Messenger, and it is not the saying of a poet - nor the saying of a soothsayer; little do you remember." And the negation of what was attributed to him ended with a clear statement of his purity from every attribute of it in the two Surahs: "You are not, by the favor of your Lord, a madman" [Al-Qalam: 2] and "And what you have brought is not the saying of a poet nor the saying of a soothsayer; rather it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. And indeed, it is a reminder for the righteous. And indeed, it is the truth of certainty, so glorify your Lord and sanctify Him from the great wrongs they have committed - [this has ended-]
So when the terror reached its limit, and the reason for the denial of the Hour was the belief in the impossibility of its occurrence altogether or due to the lack of knowledge of the particulars, [he said, indicating the completeness of power and knowledge -] of the universals and particulars, warning those who denied it that He is capable of hastening the punishment, but out of His honoring of this nation, He delayed their punishment to the Hereafter. For whoever among them is of the elite, He will manifest them in this world to complete their bliss after death, beginning with the most severe tribes in denying resurrection, as their she-camel was the first evidence of the ability to do so. And they said, despite that: "Is it a single human being among us that we should follow?" [Al-Qamar: 24] until they said: "Rather, he is a lying, arrogant one" [Al-Qamar: 25]. And they said in denial of it: "Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones, you will be brought forth?" [Al-Mu'minun: 35] "Far removed, far removed is what you are promised" [Al-Mu'minun: 36] "It is only our worldly life; we die" [Al-Mu'minun: 37] - the verse. For the matter among them is revolving between 'Aad and Thamud: "Thamud denied" and their precedence also in that their land is closer to Quraysh, and the admonition of proximity is greater. And their destruction by the shout is more similar to the shout of the blowing in the trumpets for those in the graves. And 'Aad was originally to be mentioned: "by it," but he emphasized it by describing its magnitude and terror, saying: "by the calamity" meaning [that which -] is struck, that is, it is struck with a strong strike and pounded with a severe pounding for the ears and all the world with the bursting of the heavens and the scattering of the stars and the obliteration of the towering mountains, so nothing will withstand that horror.
