And when it was presented as a sign of concern for it and for its specification due to the intensity of its fear, it was known for its great terror and the severity of its horror, so that the concept and the spoken words would converge on its intimidation. He said: ﴿Its length﴾ meaning in whatever measurement it was prescribed, whether in length or width, ﴿seventy cubits﴾. It is possible that this number is a reality, and it is possible that it is an exaggeration. What indicates that it is for exaggeration is what was narrated by Al-Tirmidhi - and he said: Its chain is good - from Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with both of them, that the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace be upon him, said: "If a bullet like this - and he pointed to something like a skull - were sent from the heavens to the earth - and it is the distance of five hundred years - it would reach the earth before nightfall. And if it were sent from the top of the chain, it would travel for forty autumns, night and day, before it reaches its origin and depth." And he, glorified and exalted is He, indicated the narrowness of it regarding what it encompasses of his body by his expression of it as a passage. He said: ﴿So enter it﴾ meaning let it be entered in such a way that it is as if it is the passage - meaning the rope - that enters into the hole of the bead with difficulty due to the narrowness of that hole, either by surrounding it around his neck or by all of his body, so that it wraps around him and he becomes in the utmost state of distress and humiliation, unable to move at all. And this is the torment of the form because it has corrupted the heart by lack of faith, and the form by lack of deeds.
