Commentary
And when he mentioned the blowing of the trumpets, he caused his saying: ﴿So on that Day﴾. This means when the two are struck, and it is a substitute for 'when,' repeated due to the length of the interval. It indicates a terrifying and great event. He established the circumstance with his saying: ﴿The Event has occurred﴾, meaning that which the promise and warning were about. It was as if it were something very heavy that has no holder. So it has nothing of itself except for falling. It is the Resurrection, the Inevitable, and the Striking. He varied its names to emphasize its terror, meaning the Resurrection has occurred, and what is meant by it is the second blowing.
