And when this was a report of their madness, which necessarily implies their misguidance in this specific manner, and since such a thing may occur in the discussions of people by a kind of suspicion, the Exalted One began what is like an explanation for what the context has indicated of this ruling upon them, informing that it arises from certain knowledge, with no doubt in it whatsoever. So He said, confirming for the sake of their denial that the matter is as indicated by what has preceded: "Indeed, your Lord"—that is, the One who raised you with the best upbringing and fashioned you upon the greatest of creations—"is"—that is, alone—"the Most Knowing"—more than anyone else, especially those who incite—"of whoever has gone astray"—that is, strayed, deviated, and lost in a great loss from which he cannot find guidance, and has taken a path other than the path of intention, and has missed the place of guidance, turning away—"from His path." Thus, he is the most insane of the insane, for He, glorified and exalted is He, is their Creator and Lawgiver. "How can one not know who created him, while He is the Subtle, the All-Aware?" Especially since He is the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, who does not overlook—"and He"—that is, particularly—"is the Most Knowing of the rightly guided"—that is, those who are steadfast upon guidance, and they are the possessors of intellect and understanding. And this is the secret of destiny, which it is said: it only appears on the Day of the Great Catastrophe.
