Commentary
And when it was in the context of recompense for good and evil deeds, which the lack of retribution from the oppressors in this world indicated that it would be after the resurrection. And the might was necessitating that. And His creation, glorified and exalted is He, for this existence upon this system is a proof of it. And their deeds are deeds of denial of it, especially their explicit statement that there is no resurrection, which indicated the greatness of His might by what He has created of this magnificent, lofty ceiling. Then, by making it preserved in this strong preservation, through the succession of ages and the repetition of years, He said, expressing with a tool of delay, indicating His majesty by the continuity of repetition over a long time: "Then return your vision." And He affirmed what the verse indicated of the request for repetition by His saying, glorified and exalted is He: "Twice," meaning two other times - this is its linguistic meaning. And by looking at the context, it is known that the return is once after another, continuously repeating that to seek out the flaw without an end, just as "Here I am" is intended as a response without a limit. And upon that, His saying, glorified and exalted is He: "It will return to you," means without choice, rather it is a dominance, exhaustion, and defeat. "The vision is humbled," meaning it is lowly, cast out, [humiliated -] far from achieving the desired. "And it is," meaning while it is, "weary," meaning like a tired night that has exhausted me from the length of repetition and the scrutiny of vision and the distance of the stage. And if this condition is in some of the created things, how can one seek knowledge of the Creator in His perfection from His majesty and beauty? So how about one who speaks of incarnation or union? His only place is Hell, and how evil is the resting place.
