And it is permissible that the sentence is a حال (state), meaning he said that while the حال is that he will not ﴿delay Allah﴾, meaning the greatest King who has no equal, so there is no objection against Him. ﴿a soul﴾, meaning any soul that may be. He confirmed the appointed time by His saying: ﴿When its appointed time comes﴾, meaning the time of its death which Allah has determined for it. So Allah will not delay the soul of this speaker because it is among the souls that are included in the negation. And since the meaning is in the way of the results which there is no doubt in guiding the wording towards: Allah is All-Knowing, for He says that. He then added His saying urging to hasten to depart from the burden of acts of obedience and to prepare for what is inevitable from the meeting, warning against neglect. And because there is no warning like knowledge: ﴿And Allah﴾, meaning the One who has comprehensive knowledge and power, ﴿is All-Aware﴾, meaning He is profound in knowledge and awareness, apparent and hidden, ﴿of what you do﴾, meaning what you perform of actions in the past, present, and future, all of it, its apparent and hidden, from this which I informed you that the disobedient person at the time of death says, and from others. O people - this is according to the reading of the majority addressing, and according to the reading of Abu Bakr from Asim in the unseen, it may refer to the hypocrites, and it may be general so that the pronoun is for the soul in meaning, and it may be that the pronoun is for the people in turning away as a warning to them. And for this reason, He, glorified and exalted is He, knew the lies of the hypocrites in that they believe what they testified to in the matter of the message, and He knew all that they recounted of their news. ﴿Does He not know who created, and He is the Subtle, the All-Aware?﴾ [Al-Mulk: 14] And Allah knows best.
