Commentary
And when this was a remarkable matter, He magnified it by His saying in the context of His power: "That" meaning the great matter of the preference of the Messenger and He made them followed after the Arabs had been followers with no weight to them among others of the factions. "The favor of Allah" meaning that which has all the attributes of perfection, and the favor is that which is not deserved unlike the obligation. "He gives it to whom He wills" by His might and power by preparing it for him even if he were the farthest of people from it. "And Allah" meaning the greatest King, "the Possessor of favor" and when "the family" indicates perfection, He indicated that by His saying: "the Great" meaning that which belittles every gift from others.
