And when the meaning of "you believe" is as has been mentioned, it has been diverted from that for what has been stated. The most important thing for a person is his fear of what has been threatened against him. So, glorified is He, from that, indicating the essence of the action by firmly stating what is in the position of the response, saying: ﴿He will forgive you﴾, specifically for those who do not do that ﴿your sins﴾, meaning by erasing their essence and all of their effects.

And when He struck the hearts with the bitterness of punishment and reproach, He sweetened them with the goodness of reward, saying: ﴿And He will admit you﴾, meaning after the purification by forgiveness, as a mercy for you ﴿into gardens that flow﴾. This indicates the proximity of the flowing and its permeation of the lands by which He said: ﴿from beneath them﴾, meaning beneath their trees, chambers, and all the places of enjoyment in them ﴿the rivers﴾. They remain fresh and blooming, and this style does not require mentioning eternity, as what follows is sufficient for it. It indicates the excessive abundance in the dwelling by His saying in the form of the superlative plural: ﴿and dwellings﴾. And since the dwellings are not pleasing except with what accompanies them of good meanings, He said: ﴿pleasant﴾, meaning in spaciousness and diversity of types of pleasures, and the height of the buildings and families with the ease of access to them, and in the beauty of the views and the ease of the currents of the winds with the spaciousness of the buildings along with the goodness of the chambers. The flowing water beneath them does not spoil anything of their fragrance nor in their moderation in anything desired from them. And since one does not desire them except with the permanence of residence, it is suitable for that by His saying: ﴿in the gardens of Eden﴾, meaning they are gardens suitable for residing in, not needing anything external for their improvement, nor another for that residence. Hamzah al-Karmani said in his book, the Compendium of Tafsir: They are the best of the gardens and the city of Paradise, the closest to the Throne.

And since this is a noble matter not found in others, He said: ﴿That﴾, meaning that great matter alone ﴿is the great success﴾.
