وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا طَٰٓئِرٖ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيۡهِ إِلَّآ أُمَمٌ أَمۡثَالُكُمۚ مَّا فَرَّطۡنَا فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِن شَيۡءٖۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يُحۡشَرُونَ ٣٨ ﴿38
38There is no creature moving on the earth, nor a bird flying on its two wings, but they are all communities like you. We have not missed anything in the Book. Then, to their Lord all of them shall be gathered.

And when he was astonished by them in their saying, 'This is such that they have never seen a sign for him after the signs that came to them, which filled the lands, and returned the deaf ears, and illuminated the blind eyes'; he reminded them with a sign other than the sign of the Qur'an, which includes numerous sufficient signs for their righteousness. He arranged them – glorified is He – before their asking, as a favor from Him upon them, indicating His magnificent power over resurrection and other signs that they requested and others, and His uniqueness in all matters. If they reflect upon them as they should, they would suffice them in all that is required of them. And if We had willed, We would have unleashed upon you from the weakest of them in creation - the mosquito - what would take your breaths and prevent you from settling and drive you from the movements of choice until it destroys you all like a single soul - and other matters that minds cannot comprehend and thought cannot grasp. And all of this is the meaning of His saying: "We did not neglect" meaning: We left and overlooked what we have of complete power and comprehensive knowledge "in the Book" meaning: the Preserved Tablet and the Qur'an. And He emphasized the negation by saying: "of anything" meaning: so that its mention may go away like the necklace whose string breaks and it falls apart. Thus, they increase in faith. So whoever desires guidance, He guides him to the subtle secrets, and whoever turns away, He casts him into ruin, and he becomes blind even to the clear lights. And the verse is as He, glorified and exalted is He, said: "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth" [Al-Baqarah: 164] until He said: "And He spread therein from every creature - for signs for a people who understand." And in everything there is a sign that indicates that He is One. So will there not be for you in that signs that suffice you from sending the messengers, let alone that you stop after sending them and do not accept from them any miracles except what you propose.

And when he pointed to what all other animals share with humans in the conditions of life and otherwise, he specified the gathering which is the place of wisdom. He said: ﴿Then﴾ meaning: after a long life and residence in the Barzakh ﴿to their Lord﴾ meaning: specifically. [And it is established for the action in the manner of the words of the able ones, his saying]: ﴿They will be gathered﴾ [meaning: they will be collected against their will] after He brings them all back as He began them, and He will give justice to every oppressed one from his oppressor. And all are preserved in a clear record, despite the differences in their types, the variations of their realities, and their individuals, and their increase in seriousness in being counted towards them - glorified is He who encompasses all things in knowledge, and has counted all things in number.
