And when the request for worship for the purpose of obedience and cessation might suggest the need for it due to a benefit in obedience or harm that may befall him - glorified and exalted is He - from disobedience, and since the delay along with the challenge might be thought to be due to incapacity, He said, encouraging and warning: "And your Lord" meaning: the Benefactor to you and to them by sending you, and He restricted the news in the beginning by saying: "The Self-Sufficient" meaning: He alone is the Absolute Self-Sufficient, free from every worshipper and their worship. So let the doer work for the benefit of himself or its harm. "The Lord of Mercy" meaning: He alone, with the delay and sending, to alert to what he deserves from the deeds; and since His specification with wealth and mercy is such that there is no mercy except from Him and no wealth except through Him, and that He has not arranged reward and punishment except by mercy from Him and generosity - He began to clarify that, and informed about this beginning by His description of it at the one who made it two descriptions by saying, explicitly stating what he has conveyed: "If He wills, He will remove you" meaning: all of you by destruction, so let no one among you think that destruction is dependent on anything other than His will. However, He has decreed to delay you until your appointed times, as a mercy for you and an honor for your Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him. Then He said, confirming His wealth also: "And He will replace."

And when He did not grant anyone eternity, He included the neighbor and said: "After you" meaning: after your destruction, "What He wills" meaning: He will create others than you from the creation of your kind [or other than your kind] just as He created your father Adam from dust, and dust from nothing, and He branched you from him. "As He brought you forth from the offspring of" meaning: the descendants of "another people" meaning: after He had destroyed them all, and they are the people of the Ark, and you were mere drops in their loins, there was no life in any one of them.
