And when the evidence was established for His glorification, exalted is He, from any blemish of deficiency, and His encompassing of every attribute of perfection, which necessitates the affirmation that the dominion belongs to Him, which certainly requires His uniqueness in the universality of divinity, which necessitates sending whom He wills to all those in His dominion. And He concluded with knowledge of the inner thoughts, the greatest of which is faith, saying, commanding submission to Him and to His Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him: "Believe" meaning, O two heavy ones, "in Allah" meaning the Greatest King who has no equal, "and His Messenger" whose greatness is from His greatness. And since faith is the foundation, and spending is an apparent aspect and head, He said, combining between the hidden carrying foundation and the complete, beautiful apparent aspect: "And spend" meaning in manifesting His religion. So you have nothing from it except what you have eaten and consumed, or what you have worn and worn out, or what you have given in charity and preserved - and in another narration: "and what you have spent."
