وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحٗا وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلۡكِتَٰبَۖ فَمِنۡهُم مُّهۡتَدٖۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ ٢٦ ﴿26
26Indeed We sent NūH and Ibrāhīm, and kept the Book and prophet-hood (continuing) in their progeny. So, some of those (to whom they were sent) were on the right path, and many of them were sinners.

And when the messengers were gathered together for them in the clear signs, the listener was worthy of expecting the specification. He particularly singled out among them those of strong will, two parents united in offspring and prophethood. This is because it is more suitable for the purpose of the surah to clarify the virtue of Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, whose message was general and for which no one else was deserving. Noah, peace be upon him, was sent to the people of the earth because they were of one tongue. The generality of Abraham, peace be upon him, was with his children, peace be upon them, and it was specified after them to Jesus, peace be upon him, due to his general message to the Children of Israel with abrogation and legislation. Then, from his descent in this nation with affirmation and renewal, He said: "And certainly We sent" meaning with the attributes of perfection, beauty, and majesty, "Noah" the second father. And We made the majority of his message a manifestation of majesty. "And Abraham" the father of the Arabs and the Romans and the Children of Israel, from whom most of the prophets are from his lineage. And We made the majority of his message a manifestation of honor.
