Commentary
And when what was intended from establishing the resurrection was completed in this clear and precise manner, and they were denying it alongside the clarification, the address was turned away from them to the most complete of creation. He emphasized it as a hearing for them and said, leading it to the result: "Indeed, this"—meaning what was mentioned in this surah regarding the matter of resurrection that they denied in their saying: "Are we really to be resurrected?" [Al-Waqi'a: 47]—and from the establishment of the evidence for it. And when it was of such clarity that nothing else could compare to it, He increased in the emphasis on the aspect of specification and said: "Indeed, it is the truth of certainty"—meaning because it is, due to the conclusive and observable evidence it has, as if it is directly witnessed. Al-Osbahi said: Qatadah said regarding this verse: Indeed, Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, will not leave anyone among the people until He brings them to certainty from this Qur'an. As for the believer, he has certainty in this world, and that benefits him. And as for the hypocrite, he will have certainty on the Day of Resurrection, where it will not benefit him.
