Commentary
And when he mentioned the two types of the saved, he followed them with the doomed, gathering them in one category. This is because whoever is destined for happiness, that is enough for him. And whoever is sealed with his misery, that harshness and abundance will not benefit him. So he said: "And as for if it was," meaning: that which we took from the companions of misguidance, and you are around him, your hearts are cut off for him, and you are not able to do anything for him at all, "from the disbelievers."
And when the disbeliever is sometimes obstinate, and sometimes [he is] ignorant and limited, he said: "the misguided," meaning: the companions of the left who were directed towards a path of guidance but deviated from it due to their negligence regarding resurrection.
