Commentary

And when this Qur'an is responsible for the happiness of both abodes, Allah, the Most High, said: "And you make your provision" meaning your share and all that you benefit from this Book, and it is your entire benefit. "That you deny" meaning you create the reality of denial in the past and present, and you renew that at every time with it and with what it has guided you to of the magnificent matters, which are everything that is worthy of being believed in, and you describe it with contradictory attributes. Among that is what it has guided you to, that there is no doer except Allah, glorified and exalted is He, so you say when the rain comes to you that provides you with it: This is by such and such a star, believing in the influence of that star, whereas it is only by Allah, glorified and exalted is He. So you have made the recompense of provision and the giving of thanks for provision denial. Ibn Burjan said: "And you make My provision for you from a great Qur'an that I have revealed, and from great words that I have sent down, and from the light of faith that I have clarified, and from the radiance of certainty that I have made clear, and from what I have sent down from the heavens of blessings that I have decreed, and from winds that I have sent, and from clouds that I have gathered, you make the place of gratitude for that denial."
