Commentary
And when He made them stand upon His power in agriculture, along with the existence of its causes, and He brought them strongly towards it, He sometimes clothed them in a type of clothing because they had a reason for it in general. He followed this by stopping them at His power over the cause which is water, for which they have no reason in any of its matters at all. He said, causing them to reflect on what this reminder has provided them, reminding them of the blessing of drinking which food requires: "Have you seen..." meaning inform me, have you seen with sight or insight what we have pointed out regarding what has passed in food and otherwise? "Have you seen..." the water, and since there is from it what is not drinkable, and the blessing in the drinkable is greater, He described it in a way that sufficed from describing it as sweet, and clarified the place of the blessing from which there is no escape, saying: "that which you drink."
