Commentary

And when their knowledge of the matter of the plants, which is the greatest sign for the resurrection of the dead, was greater than their knowledge of all that has passed, and his matter in planting and sowing the seeds in it was most similar to copulation and the placing of the sperm, and for this reason, a woman was called 'harth' (field). He connected this with what has passed, causing his saying to be a denial against them: "Have you seen?" meaning: Inform me, have you seen with the eye or insight what we have alerted you to, and in what has preceded, so your awareness of that has resulted in you seeing what you plant, meaning: you renew its planting as a means of continuity by preparing its land for sowing the seeds in it.
