And you acknowledge that He, glorified and exalted is He, has arranged His actions according to the requirements of perfection, ability, and profound wisdom. If the benefit of death were merely oppression, it would be a deficiency since it encompasses the rich and the poor, the oppressor and the oppressed. And making man immortal would be more appropriate and wiser. So, its benefit is not merely oppression; it is the motivation for doing good deeds for the oppressor out of fear of being presented before Him and being held accountable, then the transition to the abode of recompense, and the elevation to the sciences that the body is veiled from, distinguishing between the vile and the good, and knowledge of the measures of reward and punishment, and other things that the people of understanding perceive.

And when the result of death is that it is a change of the form that was into another, and whoever is capable of transforming one form into something else is capable of transforming it into another thing similar to that thing, He said: ﴿And we are not﴾ meaning according to what we have of greatness. And He confirmed the negation by saying: ﴿preceded﴾ meaning by death, nor are we incapable or overcome.
