Commentary
And when they were in the utmost rudeness, he responded to their denial by affirming what they had denied. He further informed them of their humiliation, then he indicated the correctness of that with logical evidence for those who understand it. He said, addressing the highest of creation and stopping them with it, for this position is one that none can truly experience except Him, just as none can establish it for them and be gentle with them except Him: ﴿Say﴾, meaning to them and to all who are like them. He confirmed their denial: ﴿Indeed, the former ones﴾, those whom you made the exclusion in regard to them primary. He specified the inclusion with his saying: ﴿and the latter ones﴾, and indicated the ease of their resurrection and that it is in the utmost certainty, alerting them that their transfer by death and decay is an acquisition, not a loss.
