So nothing remains after that except what necessity calls for from drinks and what follows it. Allah, the Exalted, said: ﴿With cups﴾ meaning: round vessels without handles or spouts, which do not hinder the drinker from drinking from any place he desires from them. Thus, he does not need to turn the vessel to the position from which he took it to drink. And it may be that the beginning is with the drink due to what they have experienced of hardships from thirst, just as for one who drinks from the pond, and at that time it would be before eating, and Allah knows best. ﴿And pitchers﴾ meaning: containers with handles and spouts in them of various drinks that the souls desire and the eyes delight in. ﴿And a cup﴾ meaning: a vessel prepared for drinking in it and the drink itself.
