So by which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? This means that the cause of this multitude of such great blessings is that we say, in amazement, to the one who denies, as a reprimand to him and a reminder of what He, glorified and exalted is He, has of blessings that cannot be enumerated: By which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? That is, the magnificent blessings from the One who governs you both, by virtue of His complete power and overwhelming greatness. Would you deny the blessing of taste from below, or by something else that He has made an example of this, from the pure and intoxicating drinks, and all that He mentioned of the general and apparent blessings in every situation in this world and the Hereafter? It concluded with the affirmation of twenty-four, eight of which are from the beginning of the Surah of worldly blessings, and sixteen gardens. He made them in this number as a reference to their greatness by their abundance, for it is a complete number as it encompasses most of the fractions. Therefore, the dirham and others are divided into twenty-four qirats.
