Commentary
And when what was mentioned does not complete its pleasure except with companionship, it has been reported that there will be in some of the fruits of Paradise and the produce of its trees women and children, just as there are such things in the depths of the waters of this world. "And We made from water every living thing" [Al-Anbiya: 30]. He said, gathering in a manner similar to what has passed in the indication that the two gardens are for each one of the individuals of this type: "In them" meaning the four gardens or the gardens that are designated for women. Ibn Burjan permitted that the pronoun could refer to the fruits, the date palms, and the pomegranates, for from them women and children are formed inside the skin of the pomegranate and similar things. "Good things" meaning women, abundant in goodness, its origin is good, heavy, because the "good" that is for preference is not pluralized in the plural of sound. And perhaps it has been lightened due to their being characterized by lightness in their existence and all their affairs, and due to these two gardens being less than what preceded them. "Beautiful" meaning in the utmost beauty, in creation and character.
