Commentary
And when the mention of what indicates their irrigation was made, it was confirmed by his saying: ﴿In them﴾ meaning: in every garden for each of them ﴿two flowing springs﴾ meaning: they gush forth with intensity that necessitates for them a spray of water that does not cease. He did not mention their flow, so it is as if they irrigate their garden without reaching the flow. And the flowing is less than the running and above the spraying. Al-Asbahani said: The root of flowing is with the mu'jam - it has ended. And it is as if they are for one whose eyes overflow with tears, so they fill without running. Ibn Burjan said what means: Indeed, the movement of their lack of flow is due to their being like the garden of autumn, which is here and winter [with it] due to the long time since the water has descended and they have settled in the depths of the earth (p-189) to be reflected by the spring and bubbling upward, although the garden has no rain in it.
