Commentary
And when the punishment of the criminal - who cuts off what should be connected - is one of the greatest and most secret blessings for everyone, even for those other than the criminals, it caused His saying: ﴿So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?﴾ That is: the One who is good to you, O two heavy ones, by destroying the criminal in both abodes and saving the Muslim from what He destroyed the criminal with, as a kindness to those who are threatened, so that they may be deterred and refrain from what would be the cause of their destruction, they and those who support them. ﴿You both deny﴾ the blessing of the sun from the right or from other than it, of what He has shown you of His signs, and what has manifested to you of His clear proofs, in the heavens and the earth, and what He has shown you of the rising places of the world from the sun, which is the sign of the day, and the moon, which is the sign of the cold, and other than that from His clear, visible, and audible signs. And this verse has been repeated after mentioning the Fire and its horrors seven times, as a warning against the seven gates of it, as has passed - and Allah is the One whose help is sought.
