Commentary
And when their taking in this manner indicates that it [will lead] to a great disgrace, he made it clear in his saying, based on what the context has guided to, such as: a taking that is said about it when they arrive at the place of punishment in the state that has been mentioned of taking them by their forelocks and their feet.
﴿This﴾ [meaning] the great pit, the ugly sight, "close to you" [the one that is close to you]. ﴿Hell, which denies﴾ (p-178) meaning in the past, present, and future, in contempt, and if they were returned to the world - after being admitted to it - ﴿they would return to what they were forbidden from﴾ [Al-An'am: 28] ﴿by it the criminals﴾ meaning those deeply entrenched in crime, which is cutting off what is due to be connected [and that is] what Allah has commanded. He specifically mentioned this name as an indication that it will meet them with frowning, scowling, and ugliness, just as they used to do with the righteous when committing the mentioned crimes. Ibn Burjan said: And Abdullah read, "This is Hell that you used to deny, so you will be made to enter it; you will neither die in it nor live."
