Commentary
And when what is in it of benefits is by earning from the sea through fishing and others, and reaching the vast lands for the great benefits, and their actions at sea require sincerity, which is also necessary on land. This is because they are equal in relation to His creation of them and His ability to manage both as He wills. This led to His saying: "So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?" That is, the greatest blessing, "Do you deny the blessing of sight from among you or other journeys, in places of danger, and salvation during turmoil and storms in places of loss?" And the guidance to that after the creation of the materials of ships, teaching their craft, and subjugating them, and the celestial bodies, which are like all of the universe. Their servants are like angels in establishing the dominion and improving its cohesion by the permission of their Lord, and the travelers in them are those for whom they were created, the measure of the commanded ones who are obligated and prepared, for whom the heavens and the earth and what is between them were created. So He brought them from their estrangement to their abode, and from their absence to their presence and their sights. And the One managing their affairs in the highest commands them with His command, so they worship Him and listen to Him. Then consideration may turn to be a sign for the believer during the days of this world. The world is the sea, and the ship is its body, and the inner self of the servant is what is carried in it, and the intellect is its governor, and the powers are its servants. And good deeds rectify its affairs. Ibn Burjan mentioned that.
