Commentary
And when He informed of the completeness of His power, and the destruction of those mentioned among the disbelievers and the salvation of those mentioned among the righteous in this surah is similar to what was mentioned regarding the Hour in ease and speed, it indicated that by saving His allies and destroying His enemies. He reminded them collectively and of their conditions in the easiest manner, for that is more admonishing for the souls and more restraining for the minds. So He said, swearing as a warning about their habit of disbelief along with this admonition, the act of the denier regarding their destruction due to their denial, adding to what is decreed: 'And certainly We saved Our messengers and their supporters from every dangerous thing.' And 'And certainly We destroyed' means by what We have of greatness, 'your supporters' who are one law in denial. And the power over you is like the power over them, so beware that what befell them may befall you. For this reason, He caused the saying: 'So is there any who will take heed?' to arise, meaning: by what happened to them that it is like those who have passed, but even greater. And that His power, glorified and exalted is He, over them is like His power over you, so that one may turn back from his misguidance out of fear of His might, glorified and exalted is He.
