Commentary
And when what is in it may not be definitive, He clarified it by saying: "A great wisdom" meaning it has the utmost reach to the ultimate goals of wisdom for its correctness, purity, and clarity. In it, along with the admonition, there are exhortations, lessons, rulings, and subtleties that are beyond description. And when their aversion resulted from it, that caused His saying: "So what" which is a clear negation or by an interrogative denial that reproaches: "The warnings do not avail." The warnings, the warners, and the matters warned about - indeed, the one intended by that is Allah, the Exalted. What He wills happens, and what He does not will does not happen. And perhaps the indication by dropping the 'ya' of "Tughnī" by the consensus of the copies without necessity in the wording is that just as the end of the letters of the word has fallen, the fruit of the warning has also fallen, which is acceptance.
