And when this occurred in the world, and it was on the Day of Badr, and that was one of the signs of Prophethood, perhaps some thought that this was the end, as if it was said: That is not the greatest appointment: ﴿Rather, the Hour﴾ the Resurrection in which there will be the greatest gathering and the greatest terror ﴿is their appointment﴾ meaning the greatest for the promised recompense (p-132) ﴿And the Hour is more severe﴾ than all that is presumed to occur in the world, a comparative form from the calamity, which is a tremendous matter that cannot be guided to its remedy ﴿And more bitter﴾ because its punishment for the disbeliever is unrelenting and unyielding.
