And when their lies fell upon this great matter, which is based on the utmost arrogance, Allah, the Most High, fulfilled His truth in His warning to them regarding the occurrence of that. So He inflicted upon them His punishment, glorified and exalted is He, in a manner that is worthy of being questioned about. He, glorified and exalted is He, indicated His greatness by presenting it in the form of a question, caused by the actions of the wretched, and He said: "So how was it?" And He maintained the status of monotheism as before, saying: "My punishment," meaning it was in a state and manner that is worthy of striving to seek knowledge of it and to inquire about it, "and warnings," meaning My warnings.
