Commentary

﴿He is of great strength﴾ meaning he is resolute in strength and has great ability to carry out what he has been commanded. He has the capacity to bear it without any sign of activity or sharpness, as if he has a temperament dominated by intensity. He is difficult to deal with, steadfast in his maneuvering in one manner, with an extreme level of intensity that cannot be described. There is no turning away from what he has been commanded. He is at the utmost level of determination, gathering strength, firmly established in his matter, and of great resilience. There is no indication of anything in his absence. Among the things he has been given of strength and ability is the capacity to take shape. To all of this, he referred by what he caused from this by saying: ﴿Then he became straight﴾, meaning he became upright and balanced to the utmost of what can be from his strength in the most complete of his states in the form in which he was created.
