Commentary

And when every coming thing is near, and the Hour - which is what He warned of regarding the Resurrection and what is less than it - must certainly come to pass due to the occurrence of the truthful promise regarding it, which is adorned with undeniable evidence in every way, then considering that, nothing is closer than it. He said, indicating that with the past tense which has been confirmed to occur and by the derivation of the actual event from which the action is: ﴿The approaching event has drawn near﴾, meaning the near Hour in itself, which has been described to you by the action of closeness more than once because it is the place of wisdom and the manifestation of greatness. And creation was not created except for its sake, encompassing the hardship and the misery of living from the Resurrection, and all that you have been promised in this world regarding the appearance of this religion and the suppression of the corrupt.
