And when the revelation was manifest through the angel, the listener yearned for an explanation of that. He said, clarifying it with its descriptions, for that is greater in his regard and higher in its measure: ﴿He taught him﴾ meaning your companion, the revelation that he brought to you ﴿is strong in power﴾. Do you not marvel at these overflowing seas, by which he surpassed you while he is illiterate? For his teacher, with this attribute, is such that he executes all that Allah has commanded him.
