And when the mention of creation was made, and the classification of offspring into its two types was evident in its specificity, and it is in the utmost difficulty for anyone else, he omitted the like of the emphasis in what preceded it and said: ﴿And that He created the two mates﴾. Then he explained it by saying: ﴿the male and the female﴾. For if that were in anything else, it would have prevented daughters, as they are disliked by everyone.
