And when He, glorified and exalted is He, affirmed this within Himself at the time of the affirmation, to purify Him from what was attributed to Him, this became a cause for questioning the origin of what was said about Him. He responded with limitation, and the verse is clearer and more effective against their profound denial. He said: "Indeed, it is not but revelation that is revealed to him" (Qur'an 53:4), meaning that what he speaks of from the Qur'an and its explanation, and all his sayings, actions, and states, is revealed to him except for revelation from Allah, the Most High.
