Commentary
And when the estimation is based on what the context conveys: how did you claim that they are deities? Is it so, while your custom is to disdain females from having children? How then did you accept that they should be deities for you, and you be their worshippers, while they have not sent down to you any revelation nor have they sent to you any messenger, nor have they done anything with any of you of what We honored our servant Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, with? Nor have they ever shown you a sign, nor are they qualified for anything of that. Rather, they do not possess harm or benefit, and you claimed that they are His daughters, and you settled upon them as jinn who are His daughters, and you claimed along with the absolute claim of parentage for one who has no need of it and no resemblance to it, that he has the worst of the two kinds. So this was a deficiency added to a deficiency - and glorified and exalted is He above having a partner or a child. Thus, you have deserved severe denial by that, and it is known by this estimation that the saying of the cranes is false, especially with its follow-up by His saying: 'Is it for you the male?' meaning specifically 'the superior kind,' 'and for Him' meaning 'alone' 'the female?' meaning 'the inferior kind.'
