And when this saying has established what it has established of nearness to the Prophet ﷺ from whom was revealed to him in both estimations, he affirmed it in a way that conveyed the vision and said: ﴿The heart did not lie﴾ meaning the heart which is in the utmost intelligence and fervor ﴿What he saw﴾ the sight, meaning at the time of the sight of the eye, the heart was present, not that it was merely a sight of the eye that could be devoid of the presence of the heart - the relation to error.
