'And from the night' which is the place of tranquility and rest. 'So glorify Him' likewise with intention and words whenever you awaken, and with action through the Maghrib and Isha prayers and the night prayer. To magnify Him, He stated this and prioritized it over action. The pronoun refers back to the one it is added to. He indicated the night vigil after entering into what preceded it by saying: 'And at the retreat of the stars', meaning and glorify Him at the time of their retreat, that is when they have set. This is from the last part of the night in its second half. Whenever it approaches dawn, it is higher, and responding is more appropriate. The reading of the opening indicates the closeness of dawn, meaning in its aftermath at the time of its disappearance or setting. This is through the Fajr prayer, which is a Sunnah and an obligation, more deserving and appropriate because it is truly the time of its retreat. Thus, the worship of the morning has been emphasized twice for the honor of it and the magnification of its status, for indeed this saves from the impending punishment and grants victory over the enemy who is defensive, from the openly hostile and the hypocritical deceiver. The end of it returns to its beginning, and its segments are connected to its continuation, with the punishment descending upon the oppressor and its distance from the obedient and safe one - and Allah is the Grantor of success.
