And when what has passed regarding the estimation of the existence of the deity alongside partnership was considered, and their claim of having a son was indeed very great due to its indication of His need and weakness, and making Him daughters was even greater because it indicated, along with His weakness, His foolishness. It indicated His astonishment by turning to their address with their punishment, so He said: ﴿Or does He have daughters﴾, meaning as you claimed ﴿and you have﴾, meaning specifically ﴿sons﴾ so that you may be stronger than Him and deny His Messenger Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, and reject His words without evidence, so that you may be safe from a punishment that comes to you from Him due to His weakness and your strength. And all of these categories are based on the estimation of denial, and here it is mentioned based on the estimation of affirmation. And the response occurred in it due to an obstacle that arose.
