Commentary
And when He gathered them in the inclusion of the offspring with them, because it is one of the greatest blessings, and He secured them from what might be feared of their deficiency by the deficiency of others, and He explained that so it would be more firmly established in the soul, He followed it with what is similar and said: ﴿And We provided them﴾ meaning those who believed and the righteous and those who were included with them from their offspring, with what we have of greatness, an increase over what has preceded ﴿with fruits﴾. And when the fruits were apparent in what they know in this world, even though the life of Paradise is with all things being delightful, and there is nothing in it intended for the preservation of the body, He said: ﴿and meat of what they desire﴾. There is nothing in it that does not please them to the utmost degree of delight.
