Commentary
﴿Burn in it﴾ meaning: experience its heat and measure it, and continue in it as you used to continue in harming My servants with that which burns their hearts. ﴿So be patient﴾ meaning: the consequence of your denial in this world and your direct engagement with it now is that it will be said to you: be patient with this which you have no strength to bear. ﴿Or do not be patient﴾ for indeed, there is no escape for you from it. ﴿It is the same for you﴾ meaning: patience and despair.
And since it is customary that patience has an advantage over despair, it was clarified that this is where the affliction occurs only in the form of the obligatory recompense for its occurrence. So he said, justifying: ﴿Indeed, you will be recompensed﴾ meaning: your recompense will occur now and in what is to come continuously. ﴿For what you used to﴾ meaning: always with what is for you like your innate nature. ﴿Do﴾ with the allies, being unconcerned with them, so this was the fruit of your action with them.
