And when the denial may be in its place, it clarified that what is meant is the denial of what is appropriate for truth. So He said: ﴿Those who are﴾ meaning among the people with their outward appearances and their inward states ﴿in a plunge﴾ meaning their actions and words are the actions of one plunging into water, for he does not know where to place his foot. And when that may be from astonishment in them or distress, He negated that by saying: ﴿They play﴾. Thus, two matters that necessitate falsehood have gathered upon them: plunging and playing. They are in a state where they can hardly have a saying or action in its proper place, so it is not established upon a clarification or proof.
