Commentary
And when the opposing things from a single entity are more indicative of power in this way, He said: ﴿And of everything﴾ meaning: from animals and others ﴿We created﴾ by Our greatness. And when the philosophers say: nothing comes from the one except one, He responded to them by saying: ﴿Two kinds﴾ meaning: two things like it, each of which alternates with the other from one aspect, even if it contradicts it from another. The benefit of one cannot be complete without the other from animals, plants, and others, and it includes opposites such as wealth and poverty, beauty and ugliness, life and death, light and darkness, night and day, health and sickness, land and sea, plain and mountain, sun and moon, heat and cold, heavens and earth. And that heat and cold are from the very essence of Hell is a clear sign of it, and their construction on moderation in some situations is a sign of Paradise, reminding of it and enticing towards it.
And when this is in the utmost indication that each of the two kinds needs the other and that the matter must ultimately end in one that has no equal, and that after this indication, there is no need for great contemplation, He said: ﴿So that you may remember﴾. Thus, He merged the تاء of تَفَعُّل which indicates remedy, effort, and action, so it became: that you may be among those who look at that with the right perspective in hope that they remember a little of the remembrance, which will guide you to the straight path.
