And when glorified is He, He presented the most truthful stories that indicate His oath and what He swore by, with the hidden causes therein despite their existence. Then what is in it of the sending down of that which carries the warning from the heavens by fire and the water that was referred to by the dividers, along with the distinction between the Muslim and the criminal. He followed it with the story of the one whom He supported with carriers in which there was rain, hail, and raging fire, as has been explained in Al-A'raf. Then after that, with a wind that separated the sea and dried its land, and Pharaoh and the Egyptians entered it, which is clear in that it is a cause for their destruction while they do not perceive it. He said, referring to what was mentioned in the story of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, or what is apparent in 'and in the earth' [Adh-Dhariyat: 20] or on 'in' which is in His saying: 'And We left therein a sign for those who fear' [Adh-Dhariyat: 37]. And this is closer than others and more deserving: 'And in Musa' means: in his story and affair is a great sign of that, 'when We sent him' with Our greatness 'to Pharaoh' who had wronged Ibrahim, peace be upon him, after their great kindness to him and to all his people by what Yusuf, peace be upon him, had done good to them. 'With a clear authority' means: evident miracles in themselves, calling out from the intensity of their manifestation that they are a miracle. Thus, there was a clear indication of the truth of His warning, and yet their knowledge did not benefit them; and for this reason, He followed it with His saying:
