And when the Friend of Allah, peace be upon him, was the most knowledgeable of the people of his time regarding divine matters, he knew that the gathering of the angels in that form he saw them in was not just for this glad tidings. Therefore, Allah, glorified and exalted is He, began the response as if He were saying: What was the state of him and their state after this? By saying: ﴿He said﴾ meaning: He said, explaining what he saw of their state: ﴿What is your business﴾ meaning: Your great news ﴿O messengers﴾ meaning: For a great matter.
