And when he swore by what he has of the decrees for those who stand with the tangible, the well-known, they ascended by that to the highest degrees. What he has of perfection was fully revealed, and he knew that in His treasures, glorified and exalted is He, is everything that the messengers informed about, regarding promises and threats. This caused him to say, swearing by His most sacred self, but in a familiar manner, he said: "By the Lord of the heavens and the earth," meaning: the Originator and the Planner, "by what He has deposited in them of what you know and what you do not know. Indeed, He, meaning the one you are promised of good and evil, paradise and hell, and the oath has preceded upon Him that He is truthful. It is true, meaning: established, corresponding to reality. He has combined truth with truthfulness, like what you are, meaning: and you are equal to the rest of what is in the earth of inanimate objects and others. You speak with a renewed speech at every moment continuously, it is not an illusion nor magic, meaning that this is true just as this is true. The one who has given you the power of speech from among what is in the earth by means you do not see and cannot count, and with what is besides you of that by means [like that] is capable of bringing forth His promise of provision and others as long as you need that by what He has placed in you of the life from which knowledge arises, which is necessitated by the speech that requires provision from any direction they desire. Even if you do not see its causes, just as He could make all who are in the heavens and the earth from the inanimate speak by what He has established for them of the means that He has established for you, even if you do not see that.
